If you have daily climate data from another dataset, or you would prefer to calculate the Climdex indices yourself, you can use the Climpact2 software to derive the indices from either point-based (eg. station) or gridded data.

What is Climpact2?

Climpact2 is a package for the R language that calculates the Climdex indices. It can process either station data in plain text format or gridded NetCDF files.

Getting started

Climpact2 is an R package, so if you don't have R (version 3.3 or higher) installed on your computer, you'll need to download and install it first. Once R is installed, you can download Climpact2 and find instructions for its use on its GitHub page.

If you have problems installing or using Climpact2, please contact Nicholas Herold. For any other issues, please contact Lisa Alexander.
